The big debate going on - well, one of the big debates going on - concerns Daylight Saving Time and whether or not it should be made year-round. Personally, I don’t care either way, as long as the powers that be pick one option and stick with it - either advance the clocks all year long or leave them where they should be all year long.
Recently I was talking to a friend and they were dealing with coming to grips with some trauma that they experienced years ago. However, some emotions have risen to the surface making this harder on them at this time. As they were talking, they said four words that bother me more than other words: “At least I survived.”
Let start by saying, as I write this, I’ve been battling some health issues but it has not caused me to slow down or change my day-to-day life in any way. I can thank my Granny, a Coach and God for being able to do that. Here’s a little background. I’m writing this after an incident that occurred last week.

Friday of this week marks a special milestone in my life, one I never thought in a million years I’d have to experience. One year ago Friday, my life changed forever. I had a heart attack.
It’s not often I take time for myself. I’m always busy working, or cutting grass, or just whatever needs being done, so those moments for myself are rare. Recently I was able to take one of those moments. It has been a while since I visited Harris County, where I grew up. I had to visit the county to do some work for the newspaper. While I was doing that, I managed to take a few minutes for myself and do some remembering.

As silly as this may sound, I have tried to live my entire life according to the following (admittedly odd) belief: One is allotted only a certain number of times in one’s life to get angry. After one uses them up, one then dies. That’s a big reason why I do not get very angry very often.
