SR 41 BRIDGE REOPENS
After more than nine years, a closed railroad bridge has reopened.
State Route 41 in Warm Springs is open again. The Georgia Department of Transportation opened the road under the railroad bridge on Thursday following eight years of work. The road was closed for bridge replacement in August of 2018 but work on the bridge was repeatedly delayed by numerous factors, including construction materials that did not meet standards. CSX Railroad has operated trains over the bridge since Thursday and the roadway beneath it reopened to traffic. The detour around the bridge work has been removed by GDOT.
