Road Work Awarded to Robinson Paving

During last week’s meeting, the Harris County Commission unanimously approved the bid of Robinson Paving/ The Scruggs Company to perform LRA road projects in the county.

County officials had submitted a list of roads needing repair to Georgia Department of Transportation as part of the 2026 Local Road Assistance Project.

The list of roads included:

• Bellinger Place, a distance of .1 mile;

• Dogwood Lane, a distance of .1 mile;

• Grant Road, a distance of 1.1 miles;

• Hudson Mill Loop, a distance of .75 mile;

• McCrary Road, a distance of .5 mile;

• Morton Court, a distance of .9 mile

• Mulberry Lane, a distance of .3 mile;

• Ossahatchie Creek Road, a distance of 1 mile; and

• Scott Drive, a distance of .5 mile;

Three companies offered bids on the project with Robinson/ Scruggs providing the low bid of $1,125,804.32. For comparison the high bid exceeded $1.3 million.

The county is receiving $1,119,475.74 from GDOT LRA funding. An additional $6,328 will be drawn from Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax funding.
