New Election Supervisor Named

Just in time for the 2026 General Election, Harris County has a new Elections Supervisor.

Salenthia Thomas officially assumed the role on Aug. 8, having previously served with the Talbot County Board of Elections. She noted her experience in the field of elections “provided me with valuable knowledge of the elections process and strengthened my commitment to accuracy, integrity, transparency and excellent service to voters.”

A native of Talbotton, a small Georgia city with deep historical significance in the state, Thomas relates being “honored to have the opportunity to bring my experience and knowledge to this community.” She pledges to provide “fair, efficient, and professional election services while ensuring that every voter is treated with respect and confidence in the electoral process.”

Thomas is mother to three children.
