Hamilton Avoids Special Election
Hamilton will not be holding a special election in November.
During qualifying last week, former mayor Ransom Farley was the only person to qualify to run for the city’s open council seat previously occupied by William Fields.

During qualifying last week, former mayor Ransom Farley was the only person to qualify to run for the city’s open council seat previously occupied by William Fields.
For Farley, holding a position on the Hamilton City Council is nothing new as he has held every position from council member, to mayor pro-tem, to mayor.
In June, Farley was appointed to fill the seat opened by the resignation of Fields until a special election could be held.
Since no one else qualified, Ransom retains the seat without the need for a special election.
